Re: AbiWord for Chinook and Diablo - Open Beta

Not sure what you mean by installing a different OS - it runs fine in diablo, you just need a different Repository to install it.

Re: Audio toys?

I would also use apps like these. I actually have Tuner installed, even though I don't have any instruments to tune, just because I like to play with the audio frequency readout - some real audio...

Re: HomeIP, HomeCPUSpeed, and HomeDiskFree

I would like to see more choice in desktop...

Re: N800 Battery Meter

Hmm, sounds interesting. I too find the battery meter to be more or less crazy. One thing I have found is that, for me, the number of days remaining for standby * 10 is generally about the same as...

Re: Laptop -> N800 Internet access

One thing to consider is that, depending on the school, the network admins may not be happy with you sharing the connection via open wifi - if you setup security on the second connection (or use the...

Re: accessing PC remotely

microfab - what server are you using? I am using TightVNC and can confirm it works here. What "Screen" or "Desktop" number did you set on the desktop? I believe if it is not 0 you need to use...

Re: To put it politely, I'm a tad annoyed.

I think that all of the video demos are done on a "new" install so that any extras do not confuse new people - it can be disconcerting if the demo does not look like the unit you are using (how did...

This is a known problem, and it was fixed in the latest version of OS2008, so now that you have flashed you should be all set.

Re: USB Host mode using 2 Usb Hubs

The NIT CAN indeed supply power over its USB connection, it is however limited in how much it can put out - 100 or 200 ma max, I forget.... This should be enough for a flashdrive (mine works), but...

Re: VGBA Ported to Maemo

I would love a different stylus map as well - or at least the ability to map hard buttons to the different actions - it is really hard to play Mario Kart with the location of A and B. Otherwise it...

Re: Organize your applications in N810 with OS2008: impossible.

Hmm, I am on an N800 with OS2008, and have found that it works best if you drop the program on the folder icon, not the folder name. It only bounces back for me if I try to drop on the name.
