From the moment I got my N900 (over two years now), I used the package "kernel-module-cifs 1.55.0-maemo1". Works without any problems.

@Nathan: I've tried the ",direct" option in an attempt to increase the speed of the cifs mount, but for me it turns out there is no noticeable difference with or without that option.

The cifs module or mount program apparently does not perform a (proper) hostname lookup. If you specify silent's ip address instead of its name (or use the ip= option), you should get better results.

The /etc/xdg/menus/hildon.menu file is about organization/hierarchy of the menus and placement of the icons, not about rotating and display orientation? Or is it?

Jaffa, did you had time to look at the display orientation bug I reported in post 123 (http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=499844&postcount=123). Have you tried it or is it a known issue? Thanx.

mb = mega bit (Mb) or mega byte (MB)?

I experience the following: if I copy a file of 13107200 bytes = 100 Mb (mega bit) from my server to the N900 over WLAN with scp, it needs about 12s...

I find it a great app, but has anyone noticed that the display orientation in the phone app doesn't follow the device orientation anymore after Catorise is installed.

I discovered it with 0.6.0...

How to change the font size of Plain text in Notes application

The font of "Plain text" presentation in the Note application is Monospace 12. I would like that to be size 8 without changing the property of the file to "Formatted text". Anyone knows how-to?

I'm trying to reproduce this, but don't succeed (N900/2.2009.51-1). If I do (as root) 'mkdir /media/qqq', I don't see the directory 'qqq' with the built-in File Manager, even if I do 'chown -R user...
