Re: an idea to fix the preenv games multitouch problem .

It doesn't. Already tried it. If you emulate the start of a touch at x1,y1 (but don't end it) and then physically touch at x2,y2, it is interpreted as something like an 'instant drag' (as in infinite...

Re: an idea to fix the preenv games multitouch problem .

I have succesfully mapped a key press to a touchscreen action using a combination of cat, a hex editor and xbindkeys doing something like this (as root):
cat ~/actioninhexcode >> /dev/input/event3...

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing

Just a general suggestion, I've mapped control + comma to behave as Alt + tab for window cycling.

To do so, just edit the file ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml , search for the line "<keybind...

Re: Could Multi Touch be a feature of the N900?

I have been thinking this for a while and I think it would be easier to emulate a touch on the screen via software (so it could be set to run with a key press or shortcutd)? I did a little research...

Re: Bluetooth not working, "FW error" found in dmesg

I have found no solution so far. I still think that it is a hardware failure. I also had that phone version in one of my previous flashes, it didn't allow me to reflash... I had to manually change...

Re: Bluetooth not working, "FW error" found in dmesg

I believe I may have fried the bluetooth chip and so it is a hardware problem.

Re: Flashing a preproduction N900

See http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=608704&postcount=26 up here. You have to change the HW Revision to 2101.

Re: Bluetooth just stopped working on N900?

could anyone please upload the contents of /var/lib/bluetooth ? I had the same issue a while ago (but I believe mine is linked to overclocking) and now, all I have in that directory is a file called...

Re: See message sender's number in Concersations??

I think that right now it's not possible. However, you can catch a glimpse of the sender's number on the top bar if you close the conversations app, open it again and open the sender's message.

Re: D-stroyed MY /bin/sh ! Need help!

Can you not use your n900 to access this thread, download the file directly to the phone, rename it in MC and move it with MC?

Re: D-stroyed MY /bin/sh ! Need help!

I attached my /bin/sh here (had to add a ".zip" extension to attach it, just remove it). I guess all you have to do is SSH into your device and replace the file.

Just to be clear: I didn't zip the...

Re: N900 in reboot loop after updating to leaked PR1.2

If that doesn't work, you can try this (tested working by me, credit to the OP):

BEWARE, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I don't know where to post this, since the original thread was closed, but to those who flashed to the leaked firmware and then back to PR 1.1.1 only to find the cellular doesn't work, I can confirm...

can anybody confirm that pressing "ctrl + shift + n" on any window makes the top bar disappear (not in a full-screen style, just leaves a black bar)? did it happen in pr 1.1.1?

Re: N900 bluetooth & wifi errors

I suggest you to try rebooting and if the problem persists you can also reflash the firmware. If that doesn't work it may mean that it is a hardware problem.

Re: N900 bluetooth & wifi errors

I'm no expert, but maybe some people will be able to help you if you answer things like:

did you overclock it?
have you tried rebooting?
have you tried reflashing?

and maybe, you could open...

Bluetooth not working, "FW error" found in dmesg

I use bluetooth sparingly, maybe once or twice a month, so I am not 100% certain about when it stopped working.

Anyway, I had overclocked the cpu to 900 mhz using kernel-power in extras-testing...

Please re-read my previous post, I asked about the calendar widget icons (which happen to go from 1-31) not the calendar icon itself.

Re: Calander Shortcut with actual date

If anybody can tell me where does the calendar widget gets it's icons from, I believe that I can make a script.
