I have the same problem.... On all calls basically... i tried the headset and have the same problem too, so I think its software, cos even the headset has the problem... grrr....

I have the same fade problem!!! :(

The fading happens while talking to someone and it depends on how hard I press my ear against my phone..... shaking my phone around a little bit while calling...
