Even I had faced the same issue.. In my case, I dismantled the phone and cleaned all the ribbons on the display assay and its fine now :)

P.S.:Its always better to give your phone to the Nokia...

So you mean to say the 2 prongs should touch the 'golden' area on the top for the circuit to complete right ? Actually even I had tried that but there was no difference :confused:

AFAIK the 'space' between the first name and last name can cause the issue.

Example :

Foo Boo, Abc Xyz
In this case only Foo will be recognized

Foo,ABC
Both the contacts will be...

Open the 'Phone Application' and select the 'Phone --> Turning' option on the top. Change the 'Display Orientation' parameter to the option that suits you. :)

Install Conky or run the 'top' command in the terminal and check which apps are taking the maximum cpu and/or memory... Maybe we can get some idea

Thnx guys for the super fast replies...:) Will definitely try what was suggested by 'mobiledivide'...

But my only concern is that atleast the sim should have been detected inspite of being an AT&T...

Hi,

My N900 got delivered today and had inserted my currently working AT&T (3g) simcard for setting it up. Surprisingly, N900 gave a 'Sim Card Not Recognized' error.

I tried with my friends...
