Hi,

My N900 got delivered today and had inserted my currently working AT&T (3g) simcard for setting it up. Surprisingly, N900 gave a 'Sim Card Not Recognized' error.

I tried with my friends T-Mobile sim and that worked flawlessly!!!!

Also my current phone which uses the AT&T sim is the Nokia e71x which is same as the e71 but has been heavily customized by AT&T. Could this be the reason ?

Will try a different AT&T sim soon but it will be great if i get a few pointers from you guys

Thanx

N900 works fine with AT&T network just doesn't do 3G might be the sim card.

In your phone settings for the N900 make sure that the network mode is set to GSM or Dual and not to 3G. The N900 only runs on ATT's EDGE network so your data transfer speeds will be slow.

Thnx guys for the super fast replies... Will definitely try what was suggested by 'mobiledivide'...

But my only concern is that atleast the sim should have been detected inspite of being an AT&T 3g type.

i too went from a 3g at&t sim card to tmo, and when i was using the at&t sim in my n900, it only worked as mentioned above when the phone is set to "GSM". otherwise it does not detect 3g at all.
