Problem solved. With a second hand N900 (but used only for phone and music) luckily found on a local eBay near me.

I flashed, copied my backed up data and reinstalled...

No, never overclocked and no hardware issues.
The worst thing I had until now, was to use once the trick of plugging the charger cord while re-inserting the battery to unbrick it.

So tonight i fully flashed my N900, Vanilla and Fiasco.
As a result, I have a brand new machine, but still no wifi. The dmesg pattern is the same:

dmesg is the same as before. It times out, whether I leave the network with no protection or with WPA.
I had enough of it for today. Will try a full flash tomorrow.

Indeed, the backed up kernel version was different from the current one. So I took the opportunity to flash it with RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin

In the meantime I restored RootFS and OptFS from backupmenu, I had done a backup just in May. I had many errors ("timestamp .... in the future") but it said at the end that the restore had been done...

Yes, Power saving Off doesn't change either.

I looked for powertop but don't have it, and apt-get doesn't find it either even in the devel repository. If you tell me how to get it I can post a log.

Just tried, 30 minutes without battery, nothing changed: it still times out, no matter how close the N900 is to the router.

I also restored the Settings parts of a backup made slightly before the...

I have the same dmesg messages, except after "ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready" it doesn't authenticate to any network, just times...
