Yes, you're right. The faster dhcp server will win, i guess. You can add a MAC filter though, so you do no damage. I will look into it.

And dnsmasq is not available for n900 either. I did an...

Actually i already have a nice one, but at a different hoster.

Yes. But i have a router at home and connected my netbook to it. Only the client has to be connected with a cable, because to my knowledge there are no wireless cards/chips with pxe firmware.

You need a lan cable for pxe boot.

PXE is the only option as i see it. Maybe you could install grub on mmc1, to make it bootable from a usb host. But i don't have any experience with it and i wouldn't recommend it in your situation....

Fencer's solution is the easiest if you have some usb flash media and another pc where you can install unetbootin.

If your pc can boot from network you can setup a pxe boot server on your n900. i did it some months ago to install the lucid beta on my netbook.
Unfortunately i have bricked my n900 and didn't...
