Registering my Gizmo5 SIP number with Google Voice gets me free call-in, correct? There's no need to register my Google Voice account with Gizmo5 if call-in is all I want?

Registering my Google Voice account with Gizmo5, in theory, would get me free call-out? (Even if it's limited to 3 minutes, that's enough to contact someone for him/her to get his/her computer up for tablet-to-computer calls.)
There's no need to register your Google Voice account with Gizmo5. period. if you don't have gizmo running the built-in sip app will start up and ring, but you must add the gizmo number as the number to be called into google voice or grand central.

I just tried an 800 number and it worked fine. I don't have enough credits to do a landline or mobile call at the moment. (I'm hoping to leverage Gizmo5/Google Voice free call-out...)

I'm using an N770 with OS2007HE. As far as I can tell, the built-in SIP app hasn't been updated to work with anything other than Jabber and Google Talk. No ringing from the built-in SIP app for me...

What I'm wondering is whether registering Google Voice with Gizmo5 will allow me to have short free call-outs. (Call-in works well already with the Google Voice and Gizmo5 combo without registering Google Voice with Gizmo5 first.)

Huh. It just started working. Gizmo5 call-out via Google Voice to a U.S. landline. No more message about buying Gizmo5 credits. Yay.

What?! When did this happen? I've been AFK a few days but seriously? I was planning on cutting my cell contract and going exclusively VOIP. Time to find a free SIP replacement I guess.... -_-

Is gizmo limiting callback-originated GV calls too? I can't tell yet.

EDIT: They sure aren't. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=30606

Is there a way to have this google workaround work without having to install the gizmo program. I tried using the built in internet call app but to no avail. It works pretty much how it supposed to with the program but if theres a way to do it without it I'd love to know.
