Oops, I meant to hit the button and got side-tracked!!

Not overly concerned by the data usage and still want it to update automatically so will leave as is. Still think there should be a time option rather than a timed option!

As workaround you can set the interval to a very high number as proposed before and use additionaly fcron or alarmed to specify a designated update time. At least "apt-get update" can be run via command line and maybe the application manager can be run as well.
