Sooooooo....even though I had 77mb of rootfs memory, it refused to let me update. Had to reinstall 1.1 through Nokia Updater, then do the OTA for 1.2. So its finally doing it, then the task of changing boot vid, transitions ect, and finding a stable OC kernel for 1.2, after using it at 900 i cannot get used to how slow it feels!

you should have used the video out cable...had to do this previously when my uncle smashed his N95 screen!

I wasn't talking about application manager, I was talking about application launcher (the app menu) which was supposed to be also searchable via typing letters in menu.

in case you have issues with OTA update in the application manager
you can have a go with

apt-get dist-upgrade ( as root )

anything around 50M of rootfs should be OK I think.

Oh good, operation failed mid update and has frozen!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Considering i'm due an upgrade and im loving the Desire at the moment, my N900 is not doing itself many favours!!

Battery out, and we'll try again....

Mine was disabled too and the FM Transmitter is gone from the settings.
Installed FMTX Faker application. It's still missing from Settings, but it's there in the media player. Tried it and it's working. yay!!!!!!

just use the flasher tool...take all of 3-4 min and much easier!
