Second this.

1. Could we have an option to lock and/or hide?
2. Restore desktop icon after unlocked.
3. Password change ability.

TIA

nevermind, it's stored in plain text in that .conf file

you might wanna consider storing just a hash of of the password instead of the password itself in case people use the same password elsewhere

Yeah I fully agree. What post script for unblocking the app?

Hello,

I am submitting problem faced by Uninstalling the applocker without UNLOCKING the applications. I have tried all suggestions made for unblocking the applications, but so far no I have not succeeded.

I give below the details:

First of all, I am a total noob, but love to expriment and play around with my N900.
I hv no knowledge of linux or Xterm.

I have downloaded few programs; including applocker, assuming it will ask for password whenever I wish to check my emails or conversations. Please help me in removing the applocker and restoring the blocked applications.

-I installed applocker:
-Locked few applicationsIncluding App Manager/Applocker)
-After observing missing icons on screen, I Unistalled the applocker (Without unlocking the icons)Assuming it will remove the applocker and would restore desktop settings automatically. App Manager was still Active in multi-task window):
-But It did not help
- I reboot the phone, considering, it will help.
-But it did not help
- Luckily, I received update notification while I was searching for help. I immdtly opened the App Manager And I reinstall the applocker.
- Using Xterm, I opened applocker; and disabled all the blocked icons/applications.
- I observed there were 2 Applocker entry in the list. (Now none of the programs were blocked)
- But It did not help.
- I opened MC to rename .dektop files manually, but no files had .dektop1
- There was one file: applocker.desktop1 and one more file with applocker.desktop.
- I renamed it to applocker.desktop
- Still there were both the files intact.
- I removed the file applocker.desktop1
-But it did not help.

I posted the above in different threads of applocker, and have rcvd many suggestions. i.e.:
- I reversed all the blocking of applications
- I have Uninstalled the applocker
- I have purged, clean, auto clean the via xterm. i.e. apt-get command

But nothing is working.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Can you enter this command in xterm:

ls /usr/share/applications/hildon/

It lists all files in the directory.

So, at least your applications should be unlocked - they have
the name .desktop and not .desktop1
Can you look at the content of this files,
(enter
cat /usr/share/applications/hildon/browser.desktop
for example) to be sure they arent empty.

Or enter the command

ls -l /usr/share/applications/hildon/
