renice 1 `cat /syspart/applications/standby/background/tasks`
renice 1 `pgrep modest`
/usr/sbin/kernel-config limits 125 500
that script set freq. limit from 125 to 500, renice background tasks and modest only when there is no active voice/video call.
karam I want to add this script to your batterypatch patch [cpu_sleep]

first line of this script [phone call status] will help to make vfs cache pressure value 100 during voice call. so voice call will take less battery. you tried it with proximity sensor earlier.

second line [echo >......./avoid_frequencies] I really dont understand what this do.

3rd & 4th line will renice background tasks and modest. so if the "ignore_nice_load=1" then it will save battery when the phone is locked.

last line is not so necessary.

please help me.
sorry for my bad english.

that was a long time ago
search the thread for the pages while me and ammyt where trying to solve it

and how :
when you get call
the screen will be on
then the cpu_normal will be activated
(even if you are talking the vfs will stay at 100)

then if you end the call
you will lock your phone or leave it to autolock or just not do anything
in all these cases : cpu_sleep will be activated

visN900 that usually happens when switching between songs
this is very normal

you can try other mediaplayer than the stock one
some of them doesn't cause lag
ex: wikiplayer (from ovi store)
rockbox (but not very noob friendly)

and some others

yeah some people are claiming
that's their opinion

first for speedpatch :
look at this link
this guy is more skill full than me

http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=271

and if you checked the thread you would find many members satisfied with it

second i wouldn't create a thread if am not sure what am i doing

third IMO i think the people who are complaining are just having problems with it (compatibility thing) i still cannot figure out why

in-short : if you are not having the famous xterminal problem then you are fine
and keep using speedpatch

PS: if you want you can try the full removal script
and test your N900 without speedpatch
you will notice differences

AS FOR ME : the main improvements are with : Hildon-desktop (this includes mulitasking, launching and smoothness)
transmission app (will not hang up the whole phone anymore)
TOR ( the log menu scroll is faaar improved)
and many many other different things

now for batterypatch
if you are using KP49
you will have to edit /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/overclock
and delete 750 and change 700 to 720
and you will be fine
of course you can try your different settings according to your needs
(btw i will update batterypatch next weak) testing something new

that's it

/karam
