If it's corrupted so that flashing fails, then formatting won't help. Take it back & get it replaced under warranty.

you mentioned here there's only the one version - how can i know which version i have? which version i need to have?
pls see my problem described below.
right now i can see my Nokia N900 file in my PC with the mass storage mode.

Hello

downloaded the last update from Nokia (116.3 m for maemo) and my N900 cannot start (black screen - blue nokia logo - black screen again and again).

i understood the reflashing the device will solve the probelm.
in the documentation i saw the following command:
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f –R

but in some posts i saw i need to do in with other .bin file
such as:
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f –R

my question is what is the difference?
what can go wrong if i give the wrong .bin file?
what .bin file i need to specify to solve the continuous rebooting problem?
do i missed other steps for solving it?

thank you!

Copy the files from the mass storage that you wan't to keep images,music,video's...
this all can be copied back later.
[turn device off for automatic usb storage mode]

Command line looks like this windows7-64bit XP-Mode,
Example C:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5>

Hold the u key on the device keyboard and connect the USB cable (release u key when usb icon seen in upper right corner)
[after that attach USB connection in XP-Mode!]

[Global version]
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.19-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f

Removed the ''-R'' means reboot after flash, you don't want to because you want to flash the VANILLA after.

flash done, now VANILLA.
[attach usb connection again in XP-Mode!]

flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

with -R because you need to reboot and after that you have a fresh N900

I think this thread needs to be merged with the thread titled "Continuous rebooting after over the air PR1.2 update".

[QUOTE=nonodu69;531898]Hi,

I have a big problem with the last firmware update.
N900 keeps rebooting.

I've tried previous firmware but I have the same issue.

I've tried flasher-3.5.exe --enable-rd-mode --set-rd-flags=no-lifeguard-reset
and rebooting while pressing repeatedly crtl-maj-x but I can't access xTerm
(I would like to remove applications that may have caused this crash)

Do you have an idea?

I have the same problem now..
" flasher-3.5.exe --enable-rd-mode --set-rd-flags=no-lifeguard-reset" worked 1 time...but after security update problem pop up again..now above option doesn't work..if u fixed that problem plz help me..I also tried flashing with a different firmware...
