OneNAND and RAM, as they're in the same package.

So basically transplanting the SOC from the Droid X which use the 3630 would definitely be a no go even if there were no voltage problem? I'll keep my $10 then.

If someone wants to try something useful, get the compass from a Motorola Droid working on an n900.

Here, this one is $128 US. You have less than 5 minutes, so hurry!

There was similar project regarding the Sony VAIO UMPC series of computers (really small and portable) that replaced the original processor like u1300 (core solo 1300 mhz) with a u7700 (core duo 1330 mhz) processor since they were pin compatible and both BGA chips there is a guy offering that service.

Link

I understand that these chips are bigger but the possibility is there.

I have broken (touchscreen) Archos 43 Internet Tablet with omap3630 inside. Are omap3430 (in my N900) and omap3630(in my A43IT) completely BGA-compatible? Gimme foehn!!!

So... swap chips and reflash by flasher? That's all?

Not this thread again.

No, it is not that simple. If it was, it would have been done by now.

Guys! I did it! It works!

wai-what are we discussing here, I thought we were talking about curing hiv?

Seriously we have a better chance at breaking the Milestone3/Droid3's bootloader... strapping on Mee-izen with all drivers/bugs worked out... and Alien Dalvik... and custom UX
P.S. so loving the tags (playingwithballs - wtf?)

You obviously do not understand how the cpu is soldered down, it consists of "balls" of solder hence the tag "playing with balls" and without the proper "balling" equipment it just can not be done.
