Hello,

I have raster maps (png, bmp) which i want to use with my n900, for hiking, but all gps software i could find are just using vektor graphics like openstreetmap...

So can you please help me how could i get this images as maps on my n900?

thanks

Actually many of the nav apps are tile-based (modrana for example), but i don't know if any of them will take existing raster images and plot your position on them. What have you used to do that in the past? It would require some way to enter the coordinates of the corners of the image.

I am using the maps from the Austrian "Alpenverein" which are rastermaps in gvg,gmp file format, as long as i have been using my SE P1i I was able to get the maps with TTQV and Apemap on my phone...,
now with TTQV I could create BMP, PNG files with separate .cal files which contain the calibration info, but I can't find a programm to take my files...
