Hey guys,

I've just got a new housing for my N900 (Chinese housing that turned out really good however i am having to iron out the bugs!)

Does anyone know where the FM Transmitter is located or what part it shares (Like wifi/bt module or gps system etc), ive got the rx 51 level 1/2 pdf open here and can't see the transmitter at all! :S

Please help! this is one feature i can't live without!

Also is there an app to test the n900 hardware like a system test (For things like FM trans, not on about health checker although thats a great app)

Cheers!
Cata!

Hmm thank you very much, that is extremely helpul,. its possibly in detachable cover with all the arial/gps tech is, it could be a pin issue so ill try pull the pins out a bit more and report back!

I believe this strip here is the actual n900 transmitter arial

(Best signal for low powered device over decent distance??)

Now im transplanting it (Somehow) in the n900 white case i ordered from china (Looks apserlutely great, feels alright too!)

More to come..

Sorry this took so long!

Basically any N900 users with FM transmitter enabled and functioning correctly but not signal being boardcast should do exactly what i have done!

The n900 FM arial seems very prone to corrosion so i could imagine the contacts dirty up pretty dam fast! If your fm transmitter does stop functioning, CLEAN THE ARIAL!

Ok remaining pictures, you can see where ive placed the arial in the chinese white case!

Next i cut up some glue from the glue gun (Glue stick?? ) and placed over the white slots in the chinese replicate case, this way i could bond the glue slightly into the plastic also (Since im showing a move, stock case users dont have to tough this!)

Here i have dropped pieces of glue along the antenna and next i heat up a screwdriver with a lighter and flatten it into the plastic! (Good cheap plastic ey!!)

After this its ready so i pull all the pins on the n900 out so i know everything make contact and then! I reassemble the n900 in her new glory, she is an apserlute stunner.

The chinese may be known for low priced products, but this seems like it was built for the n900, apserlutely amazing!

And after testing for a few hours, radio is back to normal!

Heh. Of course it seems like it was made for the N900 - Whatever factory made yours probably either got the exact Nokia mold-specs, or bought the actual mold off whoever Nokia contracted with. Remember, in China, contracts and IP mean jack ****.
