Hello all,

I tried downloading the maps here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/HERE...ht/true#M39403

and installed them using these instructions: http://symbianbriefs.blogspot.ca/201...tall-maps.html

Unfortunately they seem incompatible with the Ovi Maps on the N900, as they cause it to crash.

Has anyone archived the latest maps compatible with the version of Ovi Maps shipped with the N900? Where can I get them? (At least for Europe and America)

How do I verify what version of maps is installed on my N900? It should be the latest and I had kept up with updates.

Note, I'm on Linux so I would not be using the Map Loader application.

Thank you.

Seems the latest Ovi Maps on the N9 - N900 too?

Only for N9?

Please ask i.e. jmo707, he has both devices and can compare.

thanks DeadHorseRiding. These files also don't seem to work on the N900 maps. The "client index" (three letter country codes?) index files are ignored totally, while the "region index" (a,b,1,2) files crash ovi maps. I'll try and PM jmo707.

On N9 last version was 2.50.103 (now is 2.54.223).

But for N900 latest version of maps is 0.1.29.100.

Version 01.28.107:

http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=139

Or use this to prepare a wget script for version 01.29.100
http://static.maploader.maps.svc.ovi....01.29.100.xml

The online sources for these maps are now gone. Unless I'm missing something?

They are still there. The address is the same like the catalog***.xml.
And inside the catalog***.xml you will find the filename to the corresponding country.

Thank you! That indeed did the trick! You have certainly extended the useful life of my N900.

These are the larger more detailed most recent map set for Symbian S^3 and MeeGo devices and would be surprised if these work upon N900 for which last available version was 0.1.29.100; but I may stand corrected upon this. Anyway thanks for all your effort in producing this list.
