My N800 is already tethered via bluetooth to my Verizon cell phone. When I started a connection for the first time, I typed a user name of phone#@vzw3g.com and I entered a random password. Now, when I select the "Verizon Wireless" connection, all websites are redirected to Verizon asking if I want to pay $49 more each month for web access. I am already paying for mobile web access on my phone. I have not yet called Verizon.

Solution: See this thread

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=10445

Or, see below:

First pair your phone up with you N800/N770 device. I will not tell you how to do this because it is straight foward. After you pair it do below.

This will setup your LG phone to allow Bluetooth dun with out paying for service.

From the home screen click on ok > this will bring you into menu then type in "000000" this will allow you into the services page of the phone. All you now need to do is setup NAM mode.

GOTO

Option 4 "data"
Option 4 "MIP settings"
Option 8 "NAI Setting"
Option 2 "SIP DUN NAI"
and take out the "Your_number"@dun.vzw3g.com and replace with "Your_Number"@vzw3g.com

Example:
"3032224567@dun.vzw3g.com" to "3032224567@vzw3g.com

click save

Option 4 "Mip DUN NAI"
and take out the "Your_number"@dun.vzw3g.com and replace with "Your_Number"@vzw3g.com

Click save

Example:
"3032224567@dun.vzw3g.com" to "3032224567@vzw3g.com

click on CLR ont he keypad 4 times then shut the phone off. Reboot and you can now use DUN without paying for data service.

Just one change for my model LG-VX-8350. On phone dial ##77647268350 then send. Next enter six zeros for code.
So far this is working for me. The only time I use this is in my car. I have WiFi at work and at home.

You neglected to describe your phone and what you're running on the phone to permit tethering. Tell.

I have an LG-VX8350 flip phone. It is not a "smart phone".

Doh! I don't think I can help you there, then. Have you checked Howard Forums? They're a general phone-hacking forum site. If you search on your handset's model number, you're almost absolutely likely to find all sorts of good resource in there. (You probably want to search for 'VX8350 tether')
