Hi everyone,

I currently have rootsh 1.5 installed and have no desire to update to 1.8. Frustratingly, application manager frequently asks me if I want to update and even after ignoring it multiple times, when other updates become available, I can't hit "Update All" as it would also update rootsh.

Is there any way to stop it asking me to update just one app?

Thanks!

Debian (on which Maemo is based) has an option to pin versions of applications, which might do what you want. I've never done this myself though, so I don't know exactly how it works - you should be able to find some instructions online though.

As root run;

"echo rootsh hold | dpkg --set-selections"

and if you want to unpin and allow it to be updated use;

"echo rootsh install | dpkg --set-selections"

I wonder if HAM doesn't even pay attention to whether the package will be updated, just whether a "newer" one is available. That wouldn't surprise me. :P

Hmm - guess I'll just have to manually update everything as per usual. Ahh well. Thanks for the help anyway!
