There is Azimuth that says it publishes your location to your contacts.
Don't know how it works or what's possible with it.. and that whole idea gives me the craving for a tin foil helmet.
There is also Situare.

I'd rather all the world did not know where I am at certain times least my place get burglarized because someone finds I'm not home! You never know who is watching these net things. Not that I'm paranoid but...better safe then sorry!

thanks for replays but none of these programs do what i need it to do.
I am here - send email to one address only when activated by incoming txtmsg with proper passwd.
Azimuth - is announcing your actual position to IM contatcts while GPS is on.
what i need is to be able to send via email to SELECTED people link to maps.google.com with my location. I want to do this because recently i was riding on bike across europe and my family/friends wanted to know where i am. so theres nothing simple than send them my exact location via email so they can check it on map.

In its early state, you can make feature requests, like able to send commands by SMS:

Hi, I did something close to what you want...
But it's not for google maps but for google earth.
You can record your coordinate with GPS Recorder save them in mylocation.klm file and send it troutgh e-mail to your friends/relatieves.
Even you can record a route.
Don not know application for google maps.

friend of mine has got htc hero powered by android.
and there is very nice application which sends to selected contact link to maps google with your excact location. this application is called "Here I Am".
is there something like that for n900?
