I think I am a geek. lol.

Please give me some suggestions. Thanks.

Should I wait Nokia Maemo 6 cellphone which should be
released on the 2nd half of 2010 ?

Can N900 upgrade to Maemo 6 when it release ?

And I even think about to buy an HTC G3 (Hero),
It seems that Android phone has much more softwares than Maemo now.

Please help to advice. Thanks.

update on 05-20-2010 :

I cant wait anymore !!!

So ...

I just bought N900 from Hong Kong (N900 is not official released in Mainland China), wondering whether Nokia will provide officical upgrade to Meego ...

Things have changed a lot during these 3 months.
In Febuary, 2010. There is no Meego at all.
We all think the next Maemo OS will be Maemo 6.
Now, as we all know, Maemo + Moblin = Meego, by Nokia & Intel

Actually, I hope the next generation Nokia Meego device (N9-00 or N920) do not have QWENTY keyboard or not as good as N900 from some aspects.
lol. I know its a kind of selfish.

The good news is that N900 will support Qt4.6.
That means maybe many new apps on Meego can run under Maemo.
I think if 90% of the new apps (especially some important, cool apps) of Meego can run on Maemo, then I can compromise on that.

1) Buy the N900 now. Its a great device.
2) It is not know if N900 will get M6, but its unlikely
3) Screw Android!

Maybe if you posted some of your requirements, it may make the information we provide a bit more helpful?

This is stupid :|
Sorry I´m on bad mood and I have to do something so here goes:

How hard is to make little effort before posting here?

First thing to do my dear child is to make LIST. LIST of things that you think are MUST and things that are nice to have and then you unleash the power of google/wikipedia and search and search and search and write nice article/review of your project on satisfying your need and then you come here copy paste that story to first message and ask things and look for detailed specifications and answers.

So let's see:
Should I wait Nokia Maemo 6 cellphone which should be
released on the 2nd half of 2010 ?
Should you wait? Look in mirror and ask from that person.

Can N900 upgrade to Maemo 6 when it release ?
No one really knows. There is already topic about this. Read it.

And I even think about to buy an HTC G3 (Hero),
What kind of must have features it got? What nice to have features?

It seems that Android phone has much more softwares than Maemo now.
Is quantity of software thing that guides your buying?

And yes not so surprisingly it has more software.

Questions to ask might be that is there some specific software that fills must have need for some phone. etc.

This was free lesson of common sense and how to really get respect of other people.

This.

If you want a "phone" in the sense of iPhone or Android... wait for M6 or go Android.

If you want a customizable true linux device that happens to make and receive phone calls... go the N900.

If your going to wait for the Maemo 6 device, you can just as well wait for the Maemo 7 device. There is always something new around the corner, and there is always a new corner to turn.

The N900 is a great device!

Could you tell me the disadvantage of Android is ?

I know it is not completely Linux, it is hard to get root authority.
And Google use its own library for easy transfer to different vendors' platform, also a lot of JAVA added.
One of my collages just bought a G3 and it looks pretty cool.
And Android had many softwares for install.

But I find that Maemo has only about 200 softwares.

Will the quantity of the software for Maemo 5 rise when Maemo 6 release ? Thats what I am wondering.

They said Maemo are only for geeks. Is that true ?

It sounds like "features", and "Bells and whistles" and "apps" are your priorities.

Get an Android phone.

Coming from a Droid, I think you would have less complaints with that platform.

Thank you for your reply.

Actually, I am using Ubuntu 8.04.3 as my PC desktop OS.
So, I am familiar with Linux OS.

It is great to have a portable internet device with Linux OS.
And the Firefox portable 1.0 is also great.

The Terminal looks pretty cool and it feels good when I get
root authority. lol.

But I am just wondering whether I will regret because N900 is not cheap and the software number is low comparing to other OS.

Maybe NOKIA Maemo 6 device will have 4.3 inch screen with
higher resolution ? Maybe the CPU will be 1GHz or more powerful?
Maybe...
