Darius, there are a few aspects of your post that really intrigued me. Kindly share the following informations of what you used when you wrote that post:

- What brand of computer/mobile?
- What OS?
- What were you smoking?

@Texrat

better recall today 2000 N900 devices from shopping malls,
than wait another few months to recall twice as much.

N900 is a product by developers to developers.
It's not a consumers' product.
It was easy job with Nokia 770, N800, N810
as none were a phone.

Problem with a GSM phone is, standards have been set by GSMA, regulators and must be met.
GSM phone must be reliable in emergency situations.

As N900 is a product still under development, there is a risk, it may fail in emergency situations.

In the latest blow to Toyota Motor Corp, U.S. safety regulators opened a formal probe on Thursday into problems with the brakes of the Prius, the world's top-selling hybrid and a vehicle that has powered the automaker's reputation for fuel-efficiency. Skip related content

The Nikkei newspaper reported that Toyota would recall an estimated 270,000 units of its new Prius in the United States and Japan to fix the brake problem.

Toyota spokesman Mike Michels said he could not comment on that report. He said the automaker had no plans to suspend sales of the Prius as it did with eight other models recalled for a faulty accelerator pedal.

Ahh. So when I read through dells website and I dont see my laptop from last year mentioned I should assume the device is abandoned.

At a very basic level, because of the new OS being heavily based around Qt it means that there will be many new apps for the N900.

Some day I must take the time to dive back through the past four years and plot this neverending cycle of "Darian resurgence". I suspect there must be some sort of rhyme or reason to it. Or at least method.
