you are completely wrong

you said:
"
I can send files from the PC to the N900 no problems. If I try to send a file from the N900 via BT sharing I get a yellow bar that says: Connection failed to <PC Name>
"

I asked exactly about what files on N900 can be accessed via BT,
N900 meant as a phone
and vice versa
what files from N900 (as a phone) can be send or get from PC accessing N900.

Ok, if you wish and insist on to generate traffic
I can start another thread and ask the same questions again

Dude, you started talking about a 770 and wanted to know about what was being exported as a filesystem. All OT.

On Nokia 770 I can send/ receive files to / from Motorola V3 phone.
Nokia 770 is not a phone and I use
File manager

Please tell me how to send/ receive vcard, phonebook entries, saved sms, incomming call calling party ID and more
and the only accessible directories on a phone are
video, audio, images
It was my topic and I can see a hijack of my topic.

Best thing, move on...

To be honest I have only been interested in sending image files to and from the n900, I haven't sent anything else. I did find out the OPP profile is for sending calender contact etc. So I cant actually answer your question.

EDIT:

OK, but then you send one from the PC to the N900, you have to pair and now you're back where you were before. BUGCITY!
So yes there are lots of bugs not sure where the problem lies, but my Bluetooth on the PC aloes me to send a file with out paring, so I can send files both ways.

Try sending with Petrovich, it's been working fine for me.

Doesn't work, same error.

If I don't pair, I can now send from N900 >> PC

But to go from PC >> N900 I have to Pair.

That Breaks the N900 >> PC so have to un-pair for that.

Same problem here...kind of sucks big time.

Simple things like this should not require hours of trial and error and failure and forum searches.

What is the point of having a content generating device (photos for example) if the content cannot be transferred to another device? Right now I have to email everything to myself.

Additionally even looking for the photos I took on the N900 while connected to the PC (Vista) in either Mass Storage or PC Suite mode is not possible. The photos cannot be found...

Not impressed.

Argh! I should have looked up this thread a long time ago...

I was hoping this problem had something to do with Petrovich, and was kind of expecting it to hopefully work with the new firmware. No such luck.

Well, it's great that there is at least one way to send files from the N900 to Win7... even if a bit clumsy. But then again, receiving files with Windows is not that much easier either, so not a big loss in the end I guess (Seriously Microsoft, how hard can it be to automatically accept files from authorized devices?)

Bah... I'll get my usb cable.
