Try to play with mplayer's volume, surprised to find the usual config file is NOT there any more and the name of the config file has also changed. N900 is a strange beast.

The old mplayer.conf is now called config?
The old location was at /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf, the new location?

I put menu in config to /home/user/.mplayer/config and mplayer crapped out. Yike.

Anybody play with mplayer, lately?

TIA,

bun

I have config and input.conf in my /home/user/.mplayer directory, but the only thing in my config is this:

Code:
ao = pulse
-jkq

the best configuration is this... for all kind of video...
root
leafpad /home/user/.mplayer/config
or
nano ~/.mplayer/config
and delete all and write in it

ao = pulse
aspect=16:10
screenw=848
screenh=480
subq=4:bframes=2:b_pyramid=normal:weight_b

thanks to the previous advice this is a successfull of mostly for all avi and kind of type of video.
(the most important line is the last one that's "subq=4:bframes=2:b_pyramid=normal:weight_b")
