because N950 is not for sell, therefore you can't get an N950 to replace your N900, since that way it would be like if you bought the N950. As far as I know there are only 255 units (correct me if I am wrong)

Because it's prototype hardware given out only to people who developed something of interest for Maemo and is no longer in production? They could do a lot better than handing out N8's though, it's almost a slap in the face

N950 does not have official support like a "mainstream" / commercialized device.so you will never get that as a replacement.

it's sad though to have lost the N900. but as some posters said, sell the N8 and get yourself a second hand N900 off the market.

When comparing N900, N8, N950 and E7; N900 and N950 has most in common IMO.
Nokia's "N950 is only for development" idea is totally bu!!&%it. If you are managed to produce a fully working device and it is being waited for very loooong time, why don't you sell it too? Wtf is wrong with you Nokia? Damn Elop. You didn't give support to N900 also, but even that people bought it. Just sell that damn *****kicker, we don't need you, thanks to community. Damn Elop. Somebody give him bluescreen of his life, please.

Thanks for all the replies, and sorry for not checking in before - I guess I'm just a bit done.

I'll definitely check out wacktrap.

Also, may I ask where you e-mailed to? I've been sending e-mails but they simply do not reply. That just shows to me how awful Nokia has become and I will -definitely- not get a Nokia phone (although I really wanted the Nokia+WP7).. though I still want the N900

Received a E7-00 today as an "upgrade" today from Nokia for my faulty n900.

I hear there aren't any more N950s, either.
