but... cyanogen mods are unoffical, aren't they ? so, how come they can access the android market ??

Cyanogen ran into this a while back (the whole Google C&D hubub) and I think what happens now is a migration of the applications.

Essentially, the applications on the phone are stored before and reloaded after the ROM install is complete. I suspect the same is done for drivers since he doesn't have rights to distribute those either.

ohh ok'ay, but isn't there a way to find an archive of the google market and install it ??

That would be against google's EULA... please see the Piracy thread on whether this is a good idea or not .

could nokia not just get the required authorisation to use market for the n900?
I had heard that they were developing android phones (or have done already)

Well for all the ney sayers, someone has already to managed to port android 2.1 on N900. It seems the guy is doing a fantastic job. I think the community should provide him with all the support he needs. Maemo is great but having the option of booting into a different OS gives N900 more flexibility. Awesome

If dj can get nitdroid fully working on the n900 would flash 10.1 work on it?
