Re: N900 specs revealed
Oh I do understand the difference, and given that this thread is about a rumor that clearly states that it will be a smartphone, I treat the rumor as such.
Any links for that?
Anyway, still a...

Re: N900 specs revealed
I've used a N800 for roughly two months, back in February of 2007.
I think I'm entitled to an opinion. But it's great to see that the community on here seems to think I'm not. Really, just...

Re: N900 specs revealed
"Many of us" refering to what? A hundred people on here? The maybe 50.000 (if that) people who bought one of the completely non-marketed 770/N800/N810?
Compared to millions of iPhone/5800/G1/BB...

Re: N900 specs revealed
Quite frankly, current tablets were neither fish nor meat. Too small to be really useful as a productivity device, too big to be taken whereever you go. And by now, they really just don't stand a...

Re: N900 specs revealed
I just wanted to say the same...it's quite amazing how worked up people get over a somewhat smaller screen. Seriously, if ebook reading is the number one use case and your eyesight is failing, how...

Re: N900 specs revealed
I for one would welcome a 3.5" screen, if it means that the rest of the device is also smaller accordingly. Hopefully it really turns out the be a full phone, but I seem to remember that it was...

Re: Wow! Nokia N97 Demo
Since when is optimization a bad thing? Symbian is said to run very well on it, regardless of what CPU they're using, so I really don't many customers think twice about the CPU.

Re: Wow! Nokia N97 Demo
I think Symbian and Maemo will become mostly Qt-based/fully supporting Qt at roughly the same time - as the Symbian release roadmap (http://blog.symbian.org/2009/04/30/reviewing-the-release-plan/)...

Re: Kate Alhola's Maemo Presentation
Stylus vs. finger debate, take 273...really, this has all been discussed ad absurdum in various threads, and until the new tablets are presented, there's little point in these debates imho.

Re: A device for every situation
I think the single-purpose approach works well for the Kindle, because nobody wants any distractions while being immersed into a good book.
But for a web-tablet, this Crunchpad would have to be...

Re: What we do realistically see in the RX-51
...or/and the netbook market they're rumored to enter?
We'll see how much of these infos turn out to be true in a couple of months...Eldar is usually a quite reliable source for infos though.

Re: What we do realistically see in the RX-51
Another, somewhat related scrap of info is coming from Eldar Murtazin - he blogged about Nokia's big Linux/Maemo plans a while ago (http://eldarmurtazin.livejournal.com/345617.html), and UnwiredView...

I don't think it's the only tablet device though - there...

Re: Just a thought - A 7" Nokia MID?
Imho the current tablets aren't all that pocketable really - they certainly don't fit into my jeans pockets.
So, yeah, I'd actually love to see a 7" tablet - if it was slim (~1cm) and had great...

Re: Could this be it?!
What I find interesting is that the next-gen tablet mockup shown at the Maemo Summit already use parts of the current Nseries design language (of the N79/N97) like the positioning and design of the...
