no zurrian101
it is 750 mhz and it didn't effect the battery in my case

i have tested the modified ideal profile today

continues usage from 3 pm to 12 pm
and conky reported 45% left
i hope it works the exact way it worked with me

PS: if you see any battery effects just make the maximum value of frequency 600 mhz
with qcpu or xterminal

it will kill it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tried that but the battery got empty in 8 hours!!!
i think that was the reason you had a short battery life

After using the latest tweaks over the past few days, i can report that responsiveness is better SIGNIFICANTLY.
However, I am still not sold completely about the battery improvements.
Today was a typical day for me, as i study for my finals i listen to music and occasionally use microb or phone. I was in the red in 10Hrs.

No it won't kill it. It all depends on your usage. If your usage is moderate it will still go on. Please read the wiki on overclocking and see for yourself. 500Mhz with power kernel uses way lesser power than default profile of n900. 250Mhz and 500Mhz has very minuscule power consumption difference.
