I tried the drained configuration, it made my device immediately unstable, all applications crashed, and rebooting when launching any app.

Tried deprived thereafter - seems completely stable, just as stable as starved.

if you think it /home could be corrupted and you have kernel-powert-settings >=0.9 installed
you could
echo 1 > /etc/kernel-power/force_fsck
and reboot to check and repair the filesystem.

After some further testing, deprived seems to be unstable on heavier and longer-term load. So I think starving is the lowest to go, at least for my device.

hey guys can you please suggest me a good starving profile,i need it for when my phone is idle and I'm only listening music . .
also a good profile to increase the performance of my phone,i tried this one

sudo gainroot
kernel-config load ideal
kernel-config limits 500 1000
but my phone keep crashing . .

You are mixing 2 commands guy !
according to Titan's Topic :


* this one is for cpu frequency :

sudo gainroot
kernel-config load ideal
kernel-config limits 250 750

* this one is for voltage :

kernel-config load lv
kernel-config limits 500 1000


I'm running at 850 easily for the freq and didn't touch the voltage already.

Im running 600-1100 but Im courious, what do you believe that the best setting of the lower figure is ... for battery life ...

Do you think there are any differences when using 500 or 600 mhz?

Im sorry? I guess that ideal (or lv) is for setting BOTH frequency AND voltage ... those are "profiles" used by the kernel.

limits is then used to set your prefered scaling range ...

I just jumped in the pool and installed the kernel from Extras. Following what i could find on the wiki entry, i typed
sudo kernel-config load ideal
and it changes to ideal. I've tried running MAME and playing movies to give it a bit of a test. Then i tried
sudo kernel-config limits 250 850
and tested again. No problems, but when i check the CPU frequency, it's always at 850. That's not the way it's supposed to work, right?

I believe in ideal it should fluctuate between 500 and 850 for the most part
