Hello All,

I am a new N900 user. Just got the phone few hours back.

The phone is complete for me. The only thing missing is a good social networking application with customizable Homescreen widget.

However the main aim of writing this post is to know that why the N900 doesn;t disconnects the Wi-Fi/3G after the application using it is closed.

thanks,

Try searching/downloading the app called AutoDisconnect..

but yeah it would've been cool to have this feature out-of-the-box..

You are welcome but haha dude what you just said is insulting N900 is a COMPUTER
It runs Linux and only thing that reminds me that its a phone is my operator's name..hehe to be even more precise N900 is a internet tablet with a SIM card slot

True. Apologies for that. Battery drain worries me.

N900 is a Super Computer.

No, it only disconnects the connection if there is less than xxx bytes of data downloaded in xx minutes.

xx = settings in the autodisconnect application.

So for example, i have it set at 512 bytes/min and 5 mins.

Of course it depends on usage patterns but looking for wi-fi and negotiations are using much more energy than keeping connection alive.
