I am now back to version 1.0-4.

/home/user/MyDocs # dpkg -i status-area-applet-battery_1.0-4_armel.deb
dpkg - warning: downgrading status-area-applet-battery from 1.0-6 to 1.0-4.

Version 1.0-6 will not properly install in the CSSU-stable.

Upgraded from the repo, the battery applet now seem to be working alright. Thank you very much pali.

There is something broken when going to tasknav, unfortunately the issue happens only on occasion and I have no reliable way to re-create it. From time to time it looks like thumbnails fly from landscape to portrait (and vice versa) after the desktop rotation has finished. Will continue to watch and try to find a way to re-create that.

So it seams stock Maemo has this feature bug also.
Or could it be KP related?

I tended to call it feature, as it is funny (push left to the slider and watch)
But this evening I tried it again and after pushing the "rail" you do not need to keep it on that rail but just put pressure on the screen, so it may get unlocked unintentionally (somehow).
i had kernel power v52 and with cssu 7.2 i didnt have this problem but after updating to 8 i noticed it.
after going back to cssu 7.2 i no longer have the problem again

Once the new CSSU-T update is out, please file a bug against it, that way the report won't get lost
