Yes, it's normal. Widgets positions for portrait and landscape mode are stored separately. So after the first rotation you have to enter desktop edit mode.

Thanks Rohan and Radicalz38.

Rohan you can get orientation lock settings in status bar for n900 desktop.. I am able to use it without any issue.

Other issues are like F2thaK said widgets dont quite rotate properly, for me at least

because of vertical and horizontal rotation. Widgets are getting overlapped or missplaced in vertical rotation. For the time being try to set widgets in vertical rotation and then check it in horizontal mode, it get overlapped..but some time it looks nice.

laasonen plz work on rotation issue...

Thanks for this great update laasonen.

Listen.. when you rotate it to portrait.. arrange the widget and their position will be saved..and it will not overlap next time you rotate it..
Its all cool...just that..loong widgets im guessing wont work properly yet..like a full OMWeather widget with 6-7 days.

Yes I am talking about long widgets like OMWeather or default like twitter, ovi, facebook and maemo select...they are getting overlapped even if we set in portrait mode.

But phone, contact, conversation or x-terminal shortcuts are rotating properly after setting in portrait mode.

So I think this patch is working with shortcuts and not proper with widgets.

Have you tried to rearrange them in portrait mode?
