Re: Remove previously typed words from suggestion list?

I had various smutty words in my prediction file, which could be embarassing for me. I found the file using "strings" etc, if you just delete it it gets created afresh next time you type an unusual...

Re: sftp/scp speed on N900

I think the problem is, the n900 idles or uses slow clock speed when you're not typing or tapping the screen. I don't know how to fix that.

I'm using rsync over ssh, it works pretty fast if I...

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing

hey I guess the squeeze gconf2 upgrade problem would be due to two different gconf accessing the same files under /home/user but using incompatible formats or something? I guess a simple solution...

Re: N900 in R&D Mode

I'm going to try leaving mine in R&D mode because I don't want the thrice damned watchdogs rebooting for no good reason whenever I load the device a little. Might disable the flashing lights as...

Re: Video using VNCviewer on nokia N900?

I was going to try to hack the vncviewer app so I can hide its toolbar using gconf. The existing gconf setting don't seem to work whether set to true or false, and there is some bogus inverse logic...

Re: key bar for xterm

I couple other things, I didn't put backtick ` on my shell keybar because we can use $(foo) in bash, and that's nestable too. Here's the code from my scripts:

# fs: fullscreen
gconftool-2 -s...

Re: key bar for xterm

I think it would be cool to have one where you can switch between multiple toolbars for different activities. I do this with scripts at the moment, but it would be nice to have that on the menu. We...

Re: key bar for xterm

I'd really like to be able to re-compile xterm to make the button bar a bit thinner / more compact / fit more buttons on it. I had a look at the source and unfortunately it's not obvious to me how...

Re: key bar for xterm

Thanks for the thanks, and thanks to everyone else who's been working on this! A bit more about my keybar scripts, I made one for each of my major use cases: shell, C, python, virtual kbd. Where I...

Re: key bar for xterm

I made a few 2-letter scripts to control the xterm keys bar, at:
http://sam.nipl.net/code/n900-x/
fs - fullscreen - hides the keys bar
tb - toolbar - shows the keys bar
kd - Tab Esc PgUp PgDn ...

Re: How far is the n64 emulator away from being playable?

Someone is / was working on an N64 emulator on the Pandora, which has the same CPU (more or less) and screen as the n900. That port should run on the n900 too, with little or no modification. ...

really annoying

It's annoying, I'm trying to upgrade and it's so slow because of all these damn l10n packages. It's stupid to split them up unless they are optional. I do care about the space but more importantly...

Re: Fedora based MeeGo = NoGo!

Well technically 686 is a ridiculous monster, ARM is a very nice RISC. I've coded assembly for both.

Apparently nokia / meego will support both anyway. hopefully we can bring the best of rpm deb...

Re: Fedora based MeeGo = NoGo!

I have a bad feeling about meego because:
- Intel promoting Atom over ARM, but ARM is a much better CPU.
- based on rpm not debian. Debian is by far the best Linux distro.
- the name sounds...
