Ok, do you mean because there is one row in the middle and it would be better if there where 10 colums of keys instead of 11?

I dont think we use the left row which has the tab, shift etc as much as the middle row which has the characters tgbyhn.... so can you is it a good idea to shift the tab column to the middle of the keyboard??
I dont know if it is a good idea or not.... but it is just my thought.
And can you make the mouse more sensitive like the real time mouse??

See there are no limits to what the mind wants... it wants more and more!!@ !!

Sure, anything is possible. can you use a graphics program like Photoshop?
It would be great if you could make an example what you mean like a picture That way I can make it exactly how you want.

The mouse will be better in future releases, right now it just "does the job" and not very well

It would also be great to get feedback on how easy it is to type on the keyboard. I mean do you easily make mistakes (double keystrokes, unregistered keystrokes etc.)

Thanks for the quick response on the US Keyboard layout.
Here is what I found so far:
1) version 1.2
US
Normal/Shift/CAPS: majority of keys do not correspond on very top row and very right column[incl. key one before last on 3rd row]
Alt Gr: this is now totally greyed out; i.e. one cannot see what [e.g letter/'accent'] one is typing.
US & Euro
- compared to version 1.0
Arrow Keys
have gone in this version - tough to move around now
Esc & Fn keys have also gone
- compared to initial pre 1.0
Alt key has gone - would be handy, amongst other things, to change which window/program one is typing in [Alt+Tab]; now one has to change into 'mouse' mode & back to choose different program.

2) version 1.0 [not publicly available any more]
US
Just noticed that the last 2 columns & the 1st & last key in the 4th column do not correspond

It may well be my imagination but - just before reading your remark - I was thinking that I was making a lot more 'double keystrokes' in the latest version.

Yes, I lost the cursor keys because there isn't space enough. I am planning to make the cursor keys on the 770 / N800 work so you can use HW keys.

I will prob. remove the CTRL button and put ALT button instead.

I might add an extra "shortcut mode" so that you can choose commonly used shortcut keys like CTRL+C CTRL+V etc. how to implement it so that it would be handy to use is another matter.

I think the double keystroke issue is worse in the new version, I have to try to fix it.

What could we map the HW keys to do in each mode (mouse, keyboard etc.)
Give me good ideas, I think the HW keys could do different things in different modes? (Mouse speed, maybe on + / - key?)

Surprisingly it was pretty difficult to make mistakes. Infact i had to check again and agian and surprised that i was making far less mistakes then i expected.

Unfortunately i dont have photoshop and i understand that an image is better to explain what i mean.... but i dont have the time neither the tools to do so.

No problem, I think I have a few ideas on how to make it easier and more efficient to use. I will do some programming later today and try to fix the worst problem like cursors and mouse sensitivity.

I have updated the Keyboard.

The new version is at my website, I also updated the guide (not complete)

I replaced the Alt Gr key with ALT button so that you can use ALT + TAB to switch program.
I also made HW "back" button map to ESC key so it is possible to cancel and to open windows menu with CTRL + ESC

Another improvement is the use of cursor keys in both keyboard mode an mouse mode.

The mouse mode still needs some work though.

I will update the US keyboard layout very soon.

Hi Tom:

US
Normal/Shift/CAPS: majority of keys do not correspond on very top row and very right column[incl. key one before last on 3rd row]

US&Scandinavian
The programmer giveth......
The ALT key is back enabling alt+tab to easier switch between running programs

The programmer taketh......
The AltGr has been removed making it very difficult to enter foreign language accents/characters when I am typing in German, French or Spanish [e.g. ñ ç .....]
Please bring back the AltGr key [I have attached 2 jpegs incl. AltGr in case you don't have them handy]

I haven't given it enough thought yet except for the following idea:
Make the 'minus' & 'plus' buttons next to the top middle full screen button switch between a

('minus' button)
- 'stylus' entry keyboard that has all possible keys incl FN etc[similar to version 1.0]

and a

('plus' button)
- large finger friendly one with the minimum of keys [similar to version 1.3 or perhaps more basic with even larger keys]

That would combine the functionality of having all the keys available, albeit in stylus picking style, with a finger friendly one

In reference to different keyboard layouts I posted some mockups in another thread dealing with making the present thumb keyboard transparent(for use on the Internet Tablet itself.) The InScribe keyboard demonstrated has the ability of switching between layouts.

Thanks again, Tom - your keyboard is looking real good!
