Re: Announcing a new application: SplitTheTab

I've never owned a Meego device, and don't know how easy it is to port apps from Maemo. It probably is fairly straightforward - SplitTheTab is entirely written in python with the usual Gtk bindings....

Re: Announcing a new application: SplitTheTab

I'm the original author of SplitTheTab, but I'm afraid I can't be of much help. Development has focused on porting it to Android, see...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

I'm not sure; I don't have an N900 for testing. TrustMe is a relatively straightforward Python program (using the Hildon API and a binary library for Blowfish encryption). It won't have the Fremantle...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

I fixed the typo.

As to the import problem - can you send me the XML file generated from a dummy database using KeePass without the special export option? I think TrustMeDesktop may not handle...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

buurmas,

I was not able to reproduce the behavior that you see - I created .db files with no entries or one entry on my N810, copied them to the desktop, and was able to open them both on Linux...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

The .db files start with the string "#TrustMe 1" as a file type indicator, followed by a random number (the "salt" - check Wikipedia if interested). The rest of the file is encrypted with a hash of...

Re: password manager for 2008 & Win PC

Apologies for the self promotion (I'm the author of TrustMe), but you may want to check out the thread buurmas mentioned. Based on his suggestions, I just uploaded "TrustMeDesktop" (written in Java),...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

buurmas,

Please do the following:

1. Download TrustMeDesktop.jar from the garage using this link:

https://garage.maemo.org/frs/download.php/7997/TrustMeDesktop.jar

2. Launch it. You will...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

I'll try looking into it this weekend.

Are you using KeePass on Windows or keepassx on Linux on your desktop? I can create example data on Linux, but am not sure if its XML export format is...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

daperezg, to be honest I don't think I have the time to implement direct support for another database format.

However, the FAQ on http://www.keepassx.org/faq mentions that KeePassX has an XML...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

@daperezg: I can look into it ... the http://keepass.info web site does not have a detailed specification of the file format, and I'd have to check if the GNU encryption libraries I'm using support...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

Version 0.6 fixes a GUI bug: when the info field had more than a few lines, it covered the commit and cancel buttons.

This is fixed by adding a scrollbar to the info field. There still are some...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

Wes,

There already is a multi-line info field - the area below the Category pulldown is editable.

This is visible when running TrustMe standalone on the desktop, since the different GTK theming...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

I assume that many web sites use HTML forms with fields like "username" and "password", so opening the browser with a URL such as "https//mybank.example.com/login.php?username=myuser&password=mypass...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

I think a feature to not show the passwords would be doable (e.g., a checkbutton next to the password field to control whether it's displayed).

However, I'm not sure if the "copy...

Re: Announce: new password management utility "TrustMe" for Diablo

I just uploaded version 0.5 of TrustMe. It has an import/export function to and from a text file. The formatting should be obvious, it actually is what is used internally by the tool, just...

Is it safe to use "pragma synchronous=0" with sqlite?

I have observed that sqlite-based applications experience a significant delay during the connection's commit() call.

At least, that is the case for my N810 with Diablo, where the rootfs is stored...

The problem goes away when adding a "PRAGMA...
