Re: [Android] NITdroid 0.4.x

Short status is that:

Sound on N770 and N800 needs driver porting from the old 2.6.21 drivers to the new ALSA ASoC API, N810 driver has been updated to the ASoC API but sadly in my testing...

Re: [Android] Another Android port: NITdroid

There is not an exact development timetable, next improvements will come from upstream Android development (example the soft keyboard) and from OMAP kernel development which sadly is not improving in...

Re: Another Android port: NITdroid

Yes, it doesn't work well in other devices with cupcake so it's a problem in the upstream Android project but AFAIK there are people looking into the problem.

Re: Any chance of this making it to the 770?

Swap is not required unless maybe on a N770 and it's not the problem, I just asked because if swap goes to a bad block device with errors weird things will happen including your SIGBUS signals.

Re: NITdroid 0.4.x

initramfs is different from initrd in that initramfs doesn't use block devices, not even ramdisks (which are block devices), the / is embedded with the kernel as a ramfs same as /proc or /sys so it's...

Re: NITdroid 0.4.x

Yeah, try with a debugging kernel first. NITdroid doesn't use the /linuxrc script in the initfs partition.

Now, this is how NITdroid boots:

1. NOLO does its init thing and finally loads and...

Re: Any chance of this making it to the 770?

First it seems you don't have a FAT partition on your MMC card.

Second something is generating a SIGBUS signal, as 0.3.2 works I would rule out bad memory but do you set up a swap file or...

Re: Another Android port: NITdroid

Maybe... It seems to me that Android 1.1 is all bug fixing that went into the master tree just before the cupcake drop, I could compile a NITdroid version of that so RC33 apps works.

It seems...

Re: Any chance of this making it to the 770?

0.4.2 should work on 770 but I don't have the hw to debug it. Can you connect via ADB when booting?

Re: Apps for NITdroid

Infrastructure mode (AP mode) and monitor mode both are supported in the stlc45xx WiFi driver shipped in NITdroid 0.4.2.

You would need to provide hostapd though for AP mode.
