I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here, I tried finding info, following different howtos but so far with no luck.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 and installed qtcreator through the repos, added MADDE from the nokia website (0.7.48) and installed MAD-Developer on my n900.

When I try to add a MADDE device in qtcreaotor that all works nice and well, but it does not add the Qt version or toolchain automatically, so I tried adding the chain that ships with MADDE, however it is Qt 4.7.0 and on my device I am running Qt 4.7.4

Is there an (easy) way to get a duplicate of my devices tools/versions into MADDE?
So far for reasons beyond me I have not been successful with ssh-mounting, I'm going to try SCP but even then can I just copy /bin and /lib into my current MADDE target?

Am I missing some step?

Thanks,

:bump:

No one here ever used qtcreator from the Debian/Ubuntu repositories to develop for the n900?

qtcreator version: 2.5.2 (2.5.2-0ubuntu1)
Qt version: 4.8.2
Arch: 64b

Yep I tried to get it working on Ubuntu 12.10 and give up.
I wasn't sure what I was doing, mind.
Followed all the wiki's with no joy and assumed it's best to use QtSDK on Karmic - Maverick.

As for troubles with SSH have you tried removing WiFi power saving in the N900.
On some router's this will help get SSH working stably.

So on Maverick/Karmic you have it working? What about Precise?

I'm using MADDE on ubuntu 12.04 successfully with the 4.7 toolchain even if I have 4.7.4 on my device, if that info is of any use. Also the latest official Qt is 4.7 IIRC so if you want to target non-cssu devices (extras) you've got to use that.

Tried on Oneiric and Precise 64bit, but it maybe me.
There is a thread about at the moment were there Scratchbox was broken on updating to Precise

Many don't update so they don't break there development environment.

I am going to setup a VM with the last Ubuntu LTS or Squeeze to try to get my environment working.

Scratchbox I had working on Precise, I haven't tried Quantal with scratchbox yet because my understanding was that madde+mad-developer made using scratchbox not necessary...

I use a Lenny VM with scratchbox. Then I install and run QtCreator from inside scratchbox itself. Target is Desktop (which points to Qt in scratchbox). Then I test with Xephyr X server. No need for madde this way.

I can find links with instructions if you PM me.

Does scratchbox have a way to simulate that an sms is received?

Doubt it. Would probably have to insert into the SmS db and emit a d-bus signal yourself.

I'm not as familiar with SMS architecture in Fremantle.
