Wonko, your explanations sound fair.

Thanks, I submitted MeePasswords via the Wiki page.

I hope everything is correct and in order. I tried to provide all relevant information in an easily accessible fashion.

I also submitted MeePasswords and Harmattan and Fremantle versions to Nokia Store QA review today.

If anything is unclear please just drop a short note or question here.

PS: For me I consider this already very successful as I could finally figure out how to deal with those legal requirements that kept me from publishing MeePasswords to Nokia store for so long.

Edit: I wrote about my experiences with respect to the legal stuff here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...72#post1216872

That's the aim of this activity, to give an incentive to community developers to cover that last mile.

Talking of this, I will be submitting my apps pretty soon. This competition gave a good boost. Till now, I was busy with Symbian only

@qgil - Porting existing app from Android to N9 goes here or "Coding Competition"?

It will need a new GUI (in QML) and some tweeks in backend.

Here we focus on existing apps that for some reasons haven't made it to the Nokia Store yes. If you are starting development now, then Coding Competition looks more suitable.

Coding competition thread still hasn't laid rules if they will accept ports of existing apps, there has been some suggestions that ports are not accepted and/or only accepted in the possible updates category. Or whether they only accept entries that have started the coding only after the competiton starts.

As I also have this another thingie in my private repo, where I have ported the latest vpnc client as vpnc_0.5.3+rev517_armel.deb, which works nicely on my N9 and can connect to my work VPN servers. And which is mentioned in the currently missing apps page: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...in_Nokia_Store

- Currently cannot submit to Ovi QA, since I cannot give QA my work logins as test username/password, and I don't happen to have cisco VPN routers in my home to setup test VPN logins... Most likely could try apps4meego, but I've been just lazy&(busy).
- And is missing an UI as I just use it from terminal, I can prolly kludge away QML ui (or port N900 vpngui) quite easily.

If coding competition don't accept ports then most likely I just keep enjoying the client myself. But hopefully competition will clarify on rules at some point.

I'm not following the Coding Competition planning discussion, sorry. I guess one thing is to do a "regular" Linux port of some basic utility and another a port of an Android app that basically means a rewrite?

Anyway, since the number of submissions at http://wiki.maemo.org/Summer'12_Devi...or_Nokia_Store is not very high (I wonder if the affected developers are aware?) and considering that the ultimate goal of this activity is more apps in the Nokia Store for N9 users, maybe the case of existing apps for Android ported over here could also apply? I'm open to opinions.

kdrozd, it would help to know what app are you referring to. Do you have it published at Google Play?
