By "receive" I meant "receive and read"

The problem is a random situation when I send a email. Sometimes send mail and reaches to the recipient.
Sometimes I can send mail but the recipient who sent, not received ever. However in "sent", from my N900, show that the mail was sent successfully.
So now I do not trust Gmail from my N900. Only Yahoo and Hotmail work fine.

Have this problem as well. message *** not available on server.

Only on one of my gmail accounts (the one I use). Not on the other. Tried everything (that I could think of), googlemail username..
Imported imap google cert manually. updated ca-certs.. Reinstalled modest, nokiamessaging. Full reflash.. Nothing works.

My feeling (just a guess mind you) is the problem is, as is mentioned several times on this thread, on gmails side and no amount of tinkering will get my email account working working with a N900.

It could be somehow related to the size of the Gmail message ID numbers. I took a look at the headers of some of my Gmail messages; here's the "Message-ID" field from an email sent yesterday:

Message-ID: <51AE1BD8.4050905@gmail.com>

And, here's one from a message sent back in 2008:

Message-ID: <48CE8D81.50506@gmail.com>

The portion after the dot has grown significantly. Perhaps some Gmail accounts have even larger ID values, and are overrunning some string size limit in modest; or, perhaps some versions of modest can't handle the larger string size?

EDIT: I'm probably barking up the wrong tree here, the message ID in Marmistrz' example is:

Message-ID: <20130608181716.cc9ee9f57049@talk.maemo.org>
Which, of course, isn't even a Gmail ID to begin with...

It appears the whole of the email is downloaded before it tells me it isn't on the server. Noted this behaviour with an email with a large-ish attachment

Hey, if possible, could someone having this problem send me an example "bad" e-mail? (Preferably one constructed just for testing, so as not to have any personal data in it. ) I'd like to see if I can reproduce the problem in my copy of modest.

My Gmail account is jpietrzak8 at gmail.com.

Thanks!

Every single email! It's completely unusable for me.
