That color is not my choice it is the color of the small (inside) cube on the current cssu logo.

God damn, I love it.
Just a suggestion for the CSSU-Testing cube icon, why not make the grey box a wireframe a la Opera Next?

(See this)

I'll see if I can find an appropriate texture to use.

I liked the idea so I made a modification, but I think there's too much detail for the small banner

Even though I like it on Opera, I agree the detail doesn't work on the cube in this. I think it would be better if the cube was the same grey color as in "maemo."

Personally I think less is more.

not sure a tag line really needed or suitable in such a small space...

I think we'd better keep the previous iteration with the opaque cube color without the grid

I think we NEED to kill this "COMMUNITY SEAMLESS SOFTWARE UPDATE" monster, definitely.

I mean, you ever seen a car named "Volkswagen Innovative Fuel Cell Electro Car" - it wouldn't fit on the name plate ;-P

I strongly suggest to go for plain CSSU, maybe with the left out full name in at least 80% smaller in between.
See edited rationale in my previous post

Not everybody knows what cssu means, and I think the banner is there to inform casual visitors of a community software update. I think it is essential to state it, so that a non tmo-frequent N900 user who comes here for help, gets all the good news at a glance. There are more software updates even if there is no flashing icon on my device. The rest of us who know what CSSU stands for we know where to find it anyway.

Maybe we could ditch the middle words and dub it COMMUNITY UPDATE for clarity and less clutter

why not just "COMMUNITY SSU" ?

We already know what a SSU is. and this is a SSU made by the community, so..

I have to disagree. CSSU is optional, whether you go for stable or testing and the process of deciding to opt for testing or stable isnt determined by a banner.

Imo the banner should just be like a sign post. I think the idea of red or green cube with a link to a wiki when its clicked on is sufficient.
