We (the cssu team) have more and more GTK+ based applications in the repository, and by far not enough manpower to work on all of them.

With the latest steps towards replacing closed components the amount of those applications increased again.

Things like the virtual keyboard could need some love in order to finally enter cssu.

We are happy about every bit of help (gtk or not) and can be found on irc (#maemo-ssu on chat.freenode.net).

You mentioned virtual keyboard? But what problems are with it - except crowded keys in portrait? Thank you for that, by the way; until this day, I haven't even noticed that virtual keyboard is already portrait-capable.
What about poor interaction of X-Term with virtual keyboard (virtual keyboard appends characters to X-Term's line, without noticing those which were already entered; if you make a misprint, you frequently have to use hardware keyboard to correct it)?
I would like to help you, especially if there is some list of bugs which requires reading the code, finding the mistake and correcting it.

EDIT:
As maybe it is not completely clear, what we want is a developer(s) to "adopt" VKB and to actively "babysit" and push it forward. Thanks to Nicolai for his great work so far, but in order VKB to enter CSSU it should be owned by someone, the one taking care for the bug fixing, initial testing, etc

but sadly most bug reports are in the various tmo threads, and since the bugzilla is read only atm, they are even not updated properly (some are fixed already, some should be wontfix, ...).

I'm using the N900 as my day to day phone, and have CSSU installed on it since it was available. Thanks to all of you for developing it.

I'm developing GTK+ programs on my work time for colleagues need (using C or python) for, so I have some knowledge about this toolkit.

How to set-up a CSSU build envirronment ?

Several month ago, I installed on my main computer a build environment for Fremantle, following Nokia howto (scratchbox and so on). It then looked on an issue with picasa-sharing appearing on the French Internet provider Free (see http://www.mwkn.net/2011/29/devel.html ). But this environment is not using CSSU. Should I upgrade it, as I did for the phone ?

Hell no, this is for CSSU-thumb.

Guys, what you need is to setup ScratchBox Maemo SDK environment or use Nokia supplied VmWare SDK images (I am using latter). Then add CSSU-testing deb and deb src repositories in /etc/apt/sources.list, do apt-get update/apt-get upgrade and you are good to go

Main collaboration between CSSU developers happens on #maemo-ssu @ freenode, like it or not. You just cannot participate in CSSU development process without hanging on IRC occasionally. Check today's logs for an example what I mean http://mg.pov.lt/maemo-ssu-irclog/latest.log.html
