This is my first post on this forum . I have been a long time Nokia phones user (Ngage QD, Nokia 6630, N75, N8 and now N9!) .
Coming from the symbian world, I am a bit confused as to how the internet connections work in Meego/harmattan.
In symbian^3 and older, the 3G/wifi is activated only when needed, even for background tasks like email checking, sync or widget updates. Rest of the times, the connections are totally inactive.
Now, what I noticed in my new N9 is that the internet connection is active all the time (both 3G and wifi). So, it seems a little wasteful to me from a battery life perspective.
Also, I found that if I make the internet connections as "Connect manually" , it doesnt do the email sync for my 2 gmail accounts every 10 minutes, as I have set them to be.
So is there a way to make the internet connections behave like Symbian^3 which I mentioned above?
I love every aspect of my N9, except this network connection scheme. Its a nice upgrade from my lovely N8.
