No it's not silly at all. It should work like you said but I haven't tried it. You should give it a shot. You don't open the folder though in qt-creator, you open the .pro file. Then you may need to right click the theme folder and select add existing files so that qt-creator can update the .pro file with your files (I am not sure this step is necessary)
