This thread is just to launch a proposal: why not creating a store with apps coming from the community, without control of Nokia?

it might be an interesting business proposal few years ago, now i think a company doing that would fail

why? It could be also only a binder for the apps that are developed here! Just to have them put together!
To have them organized and simply downloadable!

Ok, but.. that's online..

Why not making an APP for that repo?! It could be valuable!

There I can't find all the apps that are in here, talk.maemo.org..
It could attract many indipendent developer!

I wish I could setup something similar for maemo4/5 ... but let's make sure we migrate correctly out of nokia , then setting up some obs w/ m5 would be something nice ...

IIRC, a Fremantle community OBS was already in the work before the news on the possible shutdown & need for migration came. I think it was postponed until the migration is finished.
