You can get it via the package interface and install it with dpkg, but it doesn't seem to be in the extras-devel repository. You will need both the libgoffice-0-8 and libgoffice-0-8-common packages.

FileBox has now become my default file manager and it would be nice to also view and edit text files from it. My default editor is vim, and I don't have any of the editors...

Strange. As I did only copy & paste from the widget code snippet, maybe something happened afterwards. Maybe there are additional line breaks. There should not by any line breaks.
