It looks like the PR1.2 update added FCam, a library for assuming direct control of the camera, and according to Bug 1062 the development package should be in the Platform SDK Real Soon Now(TM).

Are there any camera apps that already use libfcam for image capture? Any ideas for awesome applications for this? It looks like it should, at the very minimum, be possible to capture RAW with the N9's camera.

It looks like this is finally out in the SDK (package = libfcam-dev) as of yesterday.

It might be possible to adapt FCamera for use with the N9...anyone interested in taking that on?

I have seen an app called MeeCamHor that can take photo from Fcam. But I haven't tried it so can't confirm if it works.

Just tried that, but I get a nasty Segfault upon launch. On the other hand the fcam example works fine...
