lol @ geneven - I agree to a point...it wastes a lot of time and makes people socially lazy but it is an extremely good phone book and communication tool.

I have finally tracked down the cause of my cpu-usage problem.

Having the pedometer turned on boosts the cpu usage of hildon-home up to about 8-12% and total cpu usage up...

Only 7H Battery after PR1.3

Updated the firmware successfully using ovi suite.

Have tried with and without power kernel, either way I am now only getting about 7 hours battery life.

Previous to this I was getting up to 36...

via device, in your MyDocs folder.

Select Res, Maps and Drive folders using CTRL.

Hold shift and press delete on keyboard for permanent wipe.

Installer was just failing with no specific error. Fixed now, thanks guys.



My PR1.3 update went smoothly but I did have to re-install all of my applications.

After attempting a manual dpkg -i from the command line (as super user), I was able to see that the problems arise from write permission over folders from previous install.

Yeah I'm not having a win. Have tried a variety of shapes and sizes and it still just sits there on formatting ext3 (same error as reported in page 1 of this thread)

How big does my 1st FAT partition need to be?

I think this is my mistake, I was just trying to format the whole thing as a single EXT3

I have tried to format manually but upon launching the auto-installer it still stalls painfully at formatting /dev/mmcb1k1p2

Is there a way to tell the autoinstaller that the SD is already...

Update:

Signed up to Telstra permanently. N900 works fine everywhere I have been so far using telstras extensive GSM and 3G networks.

Sold the free HTC Desire they gave me on ebay straight...
