An edited map of the Linux/UNIX/GNU Mobile operating system madness http://www.spiderscribe.net/app/?7ee...680f4f4ae3556f
my attempt to tell the story of more than half a decades work on Unix mobile development and mobile development consolidation. I hope more cooperation goes into this project and more projects consolidate with the Tizen project, what next WebOS becomes part of it?

If they're able to get something on shelves by Sept or Q4 this yr it'll be a FAR better track-record/start than Nokia.

Yeah I've been dearly hoping for more consolidation...
That's the only way a full Linux/FOSS mobile stack is going to FINALLY become a commercial success.
Tizen could probably go it alone, but there's cool stuff the other projects bring to the table, so why not work together.
Tizen + OpenWebOS + B2G would be awesome, & makes quite a bit of sense given they're all so similar.

Hm, perhaps you should go back a bit earlier and include Qtopia. Also, Android, webOS & BtG should be in there somewhere too, and since you include BSD kernels iOS, whatever RIM's OS is called and DangerOS (yes, Microsoft made a Unix handheld).

So many familiar tombstones, its easy to expect the same result for Tizen & others, it's been a looong time in the wilderness

Curious choice... Mystique is currently dead in the X-Men comic book.
