Re: nokia 810 buy in USA work in europe?

Good call, actually that was true for mine as well. Since he Nokia connector is a "standard" one for recent Nokia phones though I never really cared about that (I have a bunch of those) and for those...

Re: nokia 810 buy in USA work in europe?

There's no difference - apart from the keyboard.

Mine is from New York as well, therefor I have an US keyboard layout. I understand that the local shops here in Germany would offer a localized...

Re: running opera mini 4 on n810 with java?

No, linux runs Sun's java for quite some while (years), even if it was closed source before. They provide linux support for a long time already. In addition there were (are?) other projects that...

Re: running opera mini 4 on n810 with java?

Thanks for pointing that out.

I spent some moments on the problem and I now agree that it's not even close to usable, sorry.

Jalimo can be installed with a single click (and runs simple tests...

Re: running opera mini 4 on n810 with java?

So what?
The tablets don't support Opera out of the box. Neither Canola2 or Maemo Mapper.

http://wiki.evolvis.org/jalimo/index.php/Packages claims to have working packages for the NITs (so I'd...

Re: running opera mini 4 on n810 with java?

http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=207810#post207810 seems to indicate something different and the threadstarter claims success running SWT based GTK applications. So - I'd say...

Re: executing java in N810 using jalimo.

Disclaimer: Never used that stuff, BUT SUN's java would fail as well here. Try

cacao -cp /path/to/jar:. YourClassName

Note the ":." to append the current directory to the classpath.

Hope...

Re: Keep or Send Back?

I think that hint is great for small stuff, BUT

- Change the >> to > (otherwise you append which is not what you want probably)
- Press CTRL + D, not CTRL + Z. The latter backgrounds the...

Re: Vala for Maemo development

Seconded. I'm currently trying to learn/use vala as well and imho this would be the killer language for the tablet (python fans keep calm..).
I'd volunteer, but I'm a java/C# guy. Related, but...

Re: Vala for Maemo development

Running MonoDevelop was no problem here, but so far I cannot really find a way to activate code completion or anything other than syntax highlighting, really.
That eclipse plugin seems to be...

Re: The N800 has a 3D accelerator, right?

Sorry, but I don't think this attitude helps here.

Should the N8x0 users (or customers, as you like to stress) be demanding regarding the hardware support? Maybe.
But it's no point starting a...

Re: Maemo Summit: registration open and free

Okay, being a nobody here and all I'm still very curious about the summit and would like to attend, learn and annoy with a bu**load of questions. Given that I can sort it out (just a matter of...

Re: Tablet Alternative Chargers

To offer my solution as well:

Payed 40 EUR for this device (http://apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=UPB10), which is at $60 right now according to that link.

First of all...

Re: Liqbase, open source virgin

No point being nervous here. You provide something useful and there's nothing that could go wrong imo. The only change is that you'll probably end up working in a team of some sort instead of locked...

That answer is only available to non-profit OSS projects. This doesn't qualify, sorry.

Re: Canola2 Beta2 Feedback Thread

Use scp and get /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list from the device or use ssh to 'cat thefilehere'. Paste it. ;)

Ben
